Terms of use — the short version

By using Rabbithole Brain, you agree to these terms. This is a small, independently-run project, and we’ve tried to keep this page as short and plain as the rest of the site.

It’s for learning and fun, not advice. Rabbithole Brain is a curiosity simulator — an entertainment and learning experience. It is not medical advice, mental health treatment, a diagnostic tool, or financial or legal advice, and it isn’t a substitute for professional judgment.

Some content is contested, legendary, or speculative — and we say so. The thought graph mixes settled history with folklore, unsolved mysteries, and open questions. Cards covering legends, contested events, or speculation carry a small chip saying so. If something reads as more certain than it should, use the "Something wrong?" link on that card, or email helpthebagman@gmail.com.

Your data, if any, is mostly yours and mostly local. Username, trails, badges, and titles live in your browser’s local storage, as described on the Privacy page. If you sign in with a magic link, your profile also syncs to our database so it follows you across devices. You can stop using the site and clear your local data at any time.

Public trails are public. If you publish a trail, anyone with the link can view and remix it — the trail data travels inside the link itself. Don’t publish anything private, sensitive, or that could identify or harm someone else. We may take down a published trail’s stored copy if it’s used to share abusive, illegal, or harmful material.

The content, badges, titles, and design are ours. The thought graph, badge designs, titles, and Rabbithole Brain branding belong to Rabbithole Brain. You’re welcome to share links to trails and screenshots of your results for personal, non-commercial use.

Support payments are paused. The support panel currently does not collect card details, charge a card, or unlock supporter rewards. When real support payments launch, they will be optional one-time tips processed by a payment processor, in exchange for a cosmetic title and badge. They won’t create a subscription or entitle you to features beyond what’s described on the Support page.

This is an evolving prototype. Rabbithole Brain is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Features, content, and availability may change, and we can’t guarantee the site will always be online or that local data will never be lost — clearing your browser’s site data deletes it. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for damages arising from your use of the site.

Who this is for. Rabbithole Brain is intended for a general audience aged 13 and up. If you’re below the age where you can agree to terms like these in your country, please use the site with a parent or guardian’s permission.

These terms may change. As the site grows out of prototype, this page and the Privacy page will be updated, with material changes reflected here.
